The GOP use to stand for “Grand Ole Party,” but not any more. There sure as hell isn’t anything grand about it and it doesn’t seem like a party. No funny hats, no celebrating, no one smiling, just a bunch of tight-fisted old white men grumbling about how the world should be.
I think today’s GOP stands for Grumpy Old People, Gang Of Pricks, Garners Of Penny-pinchers, Gangrene Of Politics, Gaggle Of Perverts, Gathers Of Paranoia, Government Obstruction Persons, Generally Odious Parasites and Group Of (take your pick) Pinheads, Peabrains, Patronizers,Puppets,Pimps,Phonies and Plunders. During the Bush years, GOP stood for George Orwell Predictions.
We are still in slow recovery mode from the effects of George (Warmonger) Bush and the deregulation Republicans responsible for the widespread damage to household wealth inflicted by the mortgage bust and the 2008 collapse of the financial system. More than $7 trillion in household wealth was wiped out after house and stock prices plunged; that hole has only recently been filled in.
