Little Known Facts

Being a writer, I have spent many hours researching information and have come across lots of little-known facts. As a public service I am making them public so that you too can become the Mr. Know-it-All of your neighborhood:

  • Annie Oakley had a younger sister who dreamed of being a lounge singer.  I believe her name was Kara.
  • T-Rex followed up their big hit Bang A Gong with Bangladesh.  I understand it only charted in South Asia.
  • The Proud Boys were originally known as The Petulant Punks.
  • The origin of the word Dagnabbit is from The Beverly Hillbillies.
  • The first nudist colony was located in the Garden of Eden.
  • Daylight Savings Time was conceived by a kid in Iowa who wanted to play outside a little longer.
  • If you laid all of the Trump Followers end to end, they would just lay there.
  • FaceBook was originally titled Pinocchio Pages.
  • A new TV series based on the QAnon cult is titled The Walking Dumb.
  • Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address was 1146 North Main.
  • The phrase “An apple a day will keep the doctor away” was coined by Eve.
  • Texas Lt. Governor Goober Dan Patrick was born Dannie Scott Goeb.  I understand his parents had it changed after he got into politics.
  • Former President Donald Jerk Trump thought Lance Armstrong was the first person to ride a bicycle on the moon.

Stay tuned for future adventures.
