The World's Oldest Scam....Religion
We have the war on religion, the war on Christmas and whatever else the TeaNut Religious wackos of the world want to declare is under war. But what we really have is War on Reason because anything that is within reason is suddenly jumped on by these wackos. Of course these assholes will use anything to use as a smoke screen to take away from talking about real issues and solutions to real problems.
As somebody once said, you can’t reason with a religious wacko because if you could, there would be no religious wackos. Here is an example of religious freedom the way the zealots see it. The Catholic Church is in a discrimination lawsuit over firing one their teachers at an Indiana school for taking vitro fertilization treatments. The Church is arguing that its religious liberty rights protect the school from having to go to court at all.
I realize that I just said this last month but I’m going to recycle it just in case you missed it.
The Pew Foundation has just released a report that says white evangelical Christians feel that they are the most persecuted people in America and at the Values Voter Summit in Washington this past weekend a straw poll of the 2000 attendees said that religious freedom was their number one priority. What a load of crap. We have more religious freedom than any country on the planet. What they want is the freedom for THEIR religion to be the ONLY religion.
They already have two national holidays and are trying to take over another one. They are doing everything that they can to take over Halloween. They want to call it the Harvest Festival or the Fall Festival. I just read an article where they are pushing to have people carve the face of Jesus in their pumpkins. It’s Halloween, you know, spooks, goblins and scary stuff. I guess the Holy Ghost would work if anyone knew what the Holy Ghost looked like.
There is a church on every corner and they get to spew bullshit on the radio and TV all they want. Don’t get me wrong, they have every right to spew their bullshit, but I have every right not to listen. Every time we turn around they insist that God or Jesus be involved in everything we do from our education system to the government. I for one will be greatly thankful when the rapture gets here and these boneheads will be gone.
Here is a fine example of evangelical Christian thinking. Christian radio host Rick (I Am Not a Scientist or a Doctor, but I am a Moron) Wiles said on his broadcast last week that Ebola is probably a good thing because it would cleanse the world of gay people, atheists and sluts. Wow Ebola doesn’t kill Christians. I guess only lions do.
And here are a couple of typical quotes from a pair of pompous, self-righteous, self-proclaimed spokesmen for God:
“Good Christians, like slaves and soldiers, ask no questions.” ~ Jerry Falwell
"The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians." –Pat Robertson

Take a Hike
Today is National Take a Hike Day. I have never been one for taking a hike, so I think I will pass. But for all of those folks who are into hiking, I would like to say, “Take a hike.”
Personally I am more of a “take a ride, take a seat, take some time off, take a load off, take a minute, take a step back, take this, take over, take a breath, take a break, take a second look, take care, take me along, take two and call me in the morning,” type guy.
I never saw the reasons for taking a hike. Once you get there, you just have to turn around and hike back.
In fact all of this thinking about taking a hike has worn me out. I think I need to take a nap.

Cold Hard Fact
Well Mother Nature has drug her cold front through town and left us all shivering in our boots. She gave us the cold shoulder and topped it off with her icy stare. I for one am pretty hot about it. I don’t like cold weather. I don’t like having to bundle up to go anywhere and then be too hot once I get there. Winter is the pits and I’m not ready for it. Not ever. Maybe when my brain thaws out, I’ll write something new. Now where’s my huggy blanket, hot chocolate, warm fire and good book.

It's All In The Numbers.
The GOP (Gang of Prevaricators) swept into office on a tidal wave of…..check that, they slipped into the back door on the lowest voter turn out since 1942. 36% of eligible voters determined who will run the country. Wow, isn’t that something to be proud of. Of course the Democrats have a big part in this by not presenting more than a couple of viable candidates.
Democrats need a strong person who expresses his or her views and values in a convincing articulate way. They don’t vote against something or someone nearly as much as they like to vote for someone or something. They also need a candidate who is not some wimpy Republican Lite who wouldn’t stand up for their own President.
On the other hand, Republicans don’t need good candidates; they just need someone who has a pulse and say they are a Republican.
And the story line of the day is that now the Republicans will have to govern. That’s a laugh. That’s the same as handing a 16 year old kid, who has never been inside an automobile, the keys to the car and saying ok, you can drive across the country now.
George Warmonger Bush crawled out from under his rock and went on the TV Sunday. He said he had no regrets for lying to the American people, starting an extremely costly war in lives and money, blowing through the surplus that was left him and leaving the country in a financial melt-down. Georgey Pooh went on the say “No, I think you have to earn your way into politics. I don't think that anything is ever given to you." Yeah like this bonehead would have gotten to the oval office if his name was George W. Smith.

Post Game Analysis
After pondering Tuesday’s terrible outing at the polls for the Democrats, I have decided that it is going to be an up hill battle for the Dem-wits to regain some traction. I believe the TeaNut Republicans are way more focused. They don’t have all the baggage that the Democrats carry around.
The conservative TeaNut Republicans don’t have any compassion, empathy, logic or a conscious to worry about. When campaigning they don’t have to do any research because facts aren’t important and since they don’t have a conscious to worry about and being naturally mean-spirited, attack ads come easy.
The TeaNuts don’t have to talk about any real issues. All they have to do is come up with a few easy to remember talking points and then repeat them no matter what the question might have been or the point being made. They also have to be repeated over and over because the TeaNut supporters have the attention span of a gnat. And because the TeaNuts are so narrow minded, they only have to come up with three talking points. Of course these talking points don’t have to make any sense, just be short, snappy and sound good.
The real advantage the TeaNuts have is selective amnesia. They never have to worry about things they have done wrong, stupid things they said or the stuff that blew up in their face. It just never happened.
If the Democrats could learn to quit explaining logical things and forget about facts, they probably would have a chance to get back into the game.
It would be great if they could also come up with a couple of good candidates. We had some here in Texas that were very good but around the country it was pretty dismal. When you can’t beat the woman TeaNut in Iowa who was described as “dumber than Sarah (Half-Assed Governor, Full Time Moron) Palin”, you have real problems. Also I think if they could have come up with a better campaign slogan than “Vote Democrat. We Hate Obama Too” it would have helped a lot.

Where Is My Morning After Pill?
Looks like a different world starting today but I’m an Old White Guy so I’ll be fine. But it’s a really sad day for women, blacks, gays, Hispanics, poor people, atheist and anyone whose religion is not Christianity because the misogynistic, homophobic, fear-mongering, religious zealot Republicans will be running the country.
If you are a Democrat who is upset about the election, here are five things you can do today to make you feel better.
1. Get

2. Get

Election Day
Tomorrow is the day for voting and there are creatures lurking
Their job is to make sure your ID’s aren’t working.
Most specifically if you are member of a minority.
Because they know Republicans are not your priority.
Their job is to keep the voting low
So they can maintain the status quo.
Once again Ida Clare has nailed it. Check it out.
Stay tuned for future adventures.
